Dear friends of crusta10!

Instead of new shrimp, crabs or crayfish we are happy to present you a new vertebrate today. Chris became a father of a sweet little daughter few days ago.

From Crustaladen.de  we got an intresting prawn from Northern India. Macrobrachium kempi can be found in hillstream waters on the southern slopes of the Himalaya in India and Nepal. M. kempi is closly related to M. agwi an other species sold in the aquarium trade. Both species can be reared in freshwater aquaria.

Form Jürgen Haberstroh (Aquaristik-Zentrum Innsbruck) we got a few Caridina villadolidi. This species is closly allied to Caridina typus  and needs brackish or marine water for larval development.

Herbert Nigl (Aq. Dietzenbach) sent us some intresting shrimp and snails from India and Indonesia.

The green longnose shrimp was collected in Cooch Behar, NE India and belongs to the species Caridina hodgarti.

Very similar to some chinese "new bee" shrimp in live coloration is an undescribed species from Sulawesi. This species is much smaller  (max. 17mm body lenght) than the chinese species and also differs in branchial formula and shape of the chelipeds.

The slender snails derive from the Indonesian island Java, belong to the species Stenomelania torulosa and grow up to about 40mm body lenght.
